The Catala site has a rich history and traces its origins back to 1792, to Anna Van Haelen who built a complex of watermills there. In 1803, the grain and oil mills became paper mills and the site grew into the Catala paper mill.
However, after many successful years and expansion, the paper mill fell on hard times that eventually led to its closure in 2015. Since then, the industrial site simply lay vacant and decaying, until Futurn and Straco Real Estate (Odebrecht) purchased the site in 2019.
The two project developers are transforming the former Catala paper mill in Drogenbos/Sint-Pieters-Leeuw into Catala Business Park, a bustling business campus with space for business units, showrooms, warehouses and offices, among other things.
2024 is entirely dedicated to construction activities that will fully invigorate the campus: having obtained the necessary permits, Futurn has already started the construction of 2 multi-tenant commercial buildings, together accounting for an offering of 38 business units for sale or rent.
Its strategic location on the southern outskirts of Brussels,on Grote Baan in Drogenbos makes Catala Business Park the ideal base for companies looking to set up as close to our capital as possible.
The site offers almost immediate access to the E19 in Ruisbroek/Sint-Pieters-Leeuw which in turn is directly linked to the R0 and E40.
In addition to its exceptional location, Catala Business Park offers a sustainable environment that meets the needs of the discerning property owner. Hence the Hydrocatala hydroelectric plant can supply green energy to the companies on the campus.
Structural elements that mark the site's glorious industrial past and extensive integration of greenery and water also create a unique working environment.
